I joined Glenholme Healthcare in 2009 as Support Worker at our service Woodside Park in North Finchley. I really enjoyed my time there, especially as Glenholme make such an effort to make all their staff and clients feel safe and happy by creating a healthy and positive atmosphere – something I feel very strongly about. I come from a very large family where we are all passionate about care and helping those less fortunate than ourselves. I feel really lucky to work for a company that shares the same values as myself. During my time as a Support Worker I was offered various trainings by my manager. I was promoted to Team Leader which helped me to develop the skills and confidence I needed for the next step in my career. In this role, I completed my QCF level 5 in Health & Social Care.

An opportunity came up for me in 2017 when Glenholme opened a new service called Hightrees in Enfield. I was encouraged by senior management to apply for the new Deputy Manager position. Although the thought of leaving my old service, along with the strong relationships I had built with my clients and colleagues was daunting, I knew this was an opportunity I couldn’t miss out on.

After 18 months as Deputy, I was promoted to Service Manager.

My new role provides me with much more responsibly and I have a fantastic team of people with me. I am enjoying my new position especially in a company that is well established and has structure in place.

I cannot say that during the past 10 years I’ve worked for Glenholme there haven’t been any bad days – of course there have and there have been times that have been challenging – but with the support of my team, we have always made it through together and come out stronger. The great days always make up for the difficult ones.

I’ve been impressed with the way Glenholme has developed and expanded, and it continues to grow more and more each day. If you’re looking for somewhere you can have a career, not just a job, I would strongly recommend applying for a position”.
